Senior Motion Designer

Role summary

Motto® is looking for a Senior Motion Designer to define how our clients' brands move, behave, and express themselves. You'll work closely with our creative and design teams to develop distinctive motion concepts and scalable systems for global brand engagements. From defining motion principles to creating expressive animations, you'll bring brand identities to life with thoughtful storytelling, strong technical execution, and exceptional craft.

The position will begin with a full-time 3-month independent contract as a trial period, giving both sides an opportunity to evaluate fit and explore a longer-term working relationship.

What you'll do

• Develop distinctive motion concepts and systems that become an integral part of a brand's identity.

• Define motion principles, behaviors, transitions, and animation styles that express a brand's personality.

• Create high-quality animations for brand identities, digital experiences, presentations, and marketing applications.

• Collaborate with Creative Directors, Design Directors, and Brand Designers to integrate motion thinking throughout the creative process.

• Translate static design systems into expressive, cohesive, and recognizable motion languages.

• Build flexible motion assets, templates, and guidelines that clients and internal teams can use consistently.

• Explore new motion techniques and technologies that elevate creative possibilities.

• Maintain exceptional standards of timing, composition, pacing, storytelling, and technical execution.

Who you are

• 5+ years of experience in motion design, ideally within a leading branding, motion, or digital design studio.

• Exceptional portfolio demonstrating distinctive motion concepts and comprehensive motion identity systems.

• Strong understanding of animation principles, timing, composition, pacing, and visual storytelling.

• Experience developing scalable motion languages rather than isolated animations.

• Advanced proficiency in After Effects, Figma, and Adobe Creative Suite.

• Experience with 3D animation tools such as Cinema 4D or Blender is a plus.

• AI-savvy and technologically curious, with hands-on experience using prompt-to-motion tools, AI-assisted animation workflows, and modern motion platforms like Jitter to expand creative possibilities, accelerate production, and develop scalable motion systems.

• Comfortable collaborating within multidisciplinary creative teams and contributing ideas early in the design process.

• Able to communicate creative thinking, respond constructively to feedback, and manage work independently.

• Highly detail-oriented, technically capable, and passionate about evolving the role of motion in modern brand identity.
