About the role
Motto® is looking for a design-driven Motion Designer to bring our brand to life through bold, beautifully crafted motion graphics and animation. This role is dedicated to our Motto® house brand, creating work that embodies our aesthetic, voice, and strategic vision across social, marketing, and brand storytelling.
We’re looking for someone who can own the creative process from start to finish—concepting, storyboarding, designing, and animating without relying on another designer to build your storyboards. In most cases, you’ll be responsible for creating them yourself.
You’ll collaborate with our innovation lab, design, social, and marketing teams, but you’ll also take projects from initial spark to final render. This means pairing strong design fundamentals with advanced motion skills, pushing creative boundaries, and experimenting with emerging tools, including AI, to keep our work sharp, fresh, and ahead of the curve.
Your work will span high-profile brand films, creative motion campaigns, social media content, case study reels, and pitch presentations—each one reflecting the Motto® brand’s distinctive aesthetic and strategic intent.
This role is for someone who thrives at the intersection of design and motion, can think like an art director, execute like a motion pro, and is always hungry to explore what’s next in motion design.
Key Responsibilities:
Concept, design, and animate motion assets for the Motto brand, spanning brand films, social media content, case study reels, pitch presentations, and marketing campaigns.
Own your storyboards: designing visual systems and layouts before animating to ensure every piece has a strong design foundation.
Edit, enhance, and innovate—mixing media to tell unforgettable stories.
Collaborate across teams: designers, founders, and marketing, to deliver standout creative for the studio.
Build motion templates and toolkits that boost efficiency and maintain visual consistency.
Push the boundaries—experiment with new techniques, styles, and tools (including AI) to keep our work fresh and forward-thinking.
Optimize for every platform, ensuring animations meet brand, quality, and performance standards.
Keep our motion library organized for easy re-use and consistent execution.
Who You Are:
A design-led motion creative with 5–7 years of professional experience in an agency, studio, or brand environment.
You have a designer’s eye and an animator’s toolkit—strong in layout, typography, color, and composition, with the technical chops to bring your designs to life in motion.
You don’t wait for someone else to hand you a storyboard—you create your own, crafting visual systems and layouts that set the foundation for great animation.
An art director in mindset, you know how to translate brand guidelines into motion that’s visually distinctive and strategically on point.
A problem-solver who thrives on owning projects from start to finish—concepting, designing, animating, and delivering without constant oversight.
Fluent in After Effects (AE Expressions a plus) and comfortable with tools like Cavalry, Rive, and emerging AI platforms that can supercharge creativity and speed.
Skilled in storyboarding, style frames, and visual storytelling that engages and inspires.
Able to manage multiple projects without losing your attention to detail or quality bar.
Constantly curious—always looking for new techniques, trends, and technologies to elevate your craft.
You don’t settle for “good enough.” You’re driven to make every piece of work feel bold, beautiful, and undeniably Motto.
Compensation & Availability

Must be EST, CST, or MST based. Availability during core hours (9AM–6PM EST) is important for team collaboration.
